Katharina Ebner, born in 1982 in Linz, Upper Austria, graduated from the University of Passau, Germany, in Cultural Business Administration with a focus on Italian culture. During her Erasmus year at the Università degli studi di Bologna, Italy, she worked intensively on Italian Politics and Italian Contemporary History. In her diploma thesis she dealt with the instruments and players of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the European Union on conflict resolution, and its mission in the Balkans. Her research interests range from (European) peace and conflict research to intercultural transfer analysis and political Catholicism in the Interwar period. She has been a part of the Doctoral College European Historical Dictatorship and Transformation Research since July 2010.
